Helicopter NH90 Caïman 1 RHC
The NH90 (NATO Helicopter), Caïman is a twin-engine assault and manoeuvre helicopter (HMA). Its mission is the tactical transport of personnel or equipment.
Dedicated to combat, rescue and transport missions, the NH90 has a range of almost two hours with 12 FELIN-equipped infantrymen, which it can drop 240 km from its base of departure (range).
The NH90 programme features a number of technological innovations, such as the use of composite materials in the structure and the integration of modular systems using digital technology. The first aircraft to be fitted with fly-by-wire flight controls as standard, the NH90’s manoeuvrability and agility enable it to carry out day and night missions in difficult weather conditions. The NH90 also offers a high level of safety and survivability.
In addition to its tactical transport missions for personnel (20 people) and equipment, the helicopter can also be used for the following missions: SAR (Search And Rescue), medical evacuation, heliborne command post and parachuting.
